What is biological Treatments?
Biological treatment essentially means the use of the patients’ own tissues for healing and repair of injuries and damage to structures. The treatment is instituted by the orthopaedic surgeon. Such treatment in orthopaedics comes in various forms. Examples include
Autologous (patient’s own) blood injection
Injections of platelet-rich plasma (PRP)
